(Hood) 11 : 100
ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ أَنْبَاءِ الْقُرَىٰ نَقُصُّهُ عَلَيْكَ ۖ مِنْهَا قَائِمٌ وَحَصِيدٌ

That is from the news of the countries that We explain to you; among them, some are still there, while others are wiped out.

Verses 28: 46-50 say: “You were not present at the side of Mount Thwoor when We called Moses, as a Mercy from your Lord, to warn a people to whom no warner had come before, that they might be reminded. They should not say if a disaster befalls them for what their hands have sent forth: ‘Our Lord, why didn’t You send us a Messenger so we could have followed Your verses and been among the believers?’ But when the Truth came to them from Us, they said: ‘Why was he not given like what was given to Moses?’ Didn’t they disbelieve in what Moses was given before? They said: ‘These are both sorceries supporting each other, and indeed we disbelieve in each of them.’ Say: ‘Then bring a Book from Allah which is more guiding than either of them so I may follow it if you are so truthful.’ But if they do not respond to you, then know that they are only following their whims; and who is more astray than one who follows his whims without Guidance from Allah? Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoer people.”

Today, these verses are read by the Fujjar, who neither testify to Adhikr—the Only Truth and Proof given to 313 Messengers, as mentioned in verse 21:24—nor follow any of the Messengers. Instead, they learn, teach, and propagate books written by pseudo-prophets and hypocrites, as explained in verse 2:79. They follow falsehood, so all their deeds are futile, as stated in verses 18:103-106; 25:23; and 47:8-9. Verse 40:78 tells us that on the Day of Judgment when matters will be decided with Truth, the followers of falsehood will be the losers. On that Day, these wrongdoers will wail: “Woe to me! Satan prevented me from Adhikr after It had come to me; indeed, Satan was an enemy to mankind,” as explained in verses 2:27-29. See explanation 7:101-102; 9:31-33; and 10:13-14.
